About us

The Community of Practice CASH (CoP CASH)

... is a knowledge management body within the Humanitarian Aid Department of SDC. It was created as a Project Team in 2002 after the successful implementation of a series of Cash Transfer projects in Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, Macedonia and Ingushetia (Russ. Fed.) with the aim of sharing the tested good experiences with colleagues within the institution. The over all goal of the Community of Practice (CoP) CASH is the promotion of an effective, efficient and professional implementation of Cash Transfer Projects.

The CoP CASH comprises a small number of committed desk officers and external experts and is working within 4 fields of activity:

1. Technical support A meeting of the project staff

To support Desk officer and project managers during

  • preparation of new interventions
  • implementation of Cash Transfer Projects and
  • extraction and analysis of useful experiences

2. Knowledge management

To gather, analyse and make available lessons learnt and best practices via this website .

3. Quality management

To organise workshops and trainings for project managers and desk officers to professionalize the interventions based on common standards and best practices.

4. Networking

To share knowledge and information and implementation-oriented expertise with colleagues of international organisations concerned with Cash Transfer Projects.
